The Flow

The flow of my life is very relaxed right now. I figure out what my next move will be and I don't really have a schedule. I am relaxed and loving it!

The Becoming

I have been practicing the spheres, and I am making progress. You may notice that the scene has not changed since yesterday. I am trying to perfect the spheres before I get creative with them and the spheres are hard. The first method it tried rubbed some of my skin raw! I think I know what I need to do, but I am positive that it will work. We'll see.

The Round-ish

I saw a video of this type of night photography where this effect is made. It is still a work in progress, but I think that I will perfect it soon.

The Fresh

I found an aerosol can of Fabreze an decided to have fun with it and my flash unit. The result is exceptional, but seems to look like a stock image.

The Traverse

For my last day in the Land of the Lorax, I went to the most popular bouldering area: Gun Smoke. The main climb, which is a traverse, is about 30 meters long! That is a long traverse, and a hard one as well. I got halfway through the climb before I fell (onto a pad.) I climbed until I could no longer take my lens cap on and off, which was a while.

The Hidden Face

Within this shot, there is a hidden face. My challenge to you is to find it. Anyway, this is the fist of many very long night exposures. One thing I need to fix is the sensor specs, but I think my problem manly deals with the battery. My battery dies before the camera computer has finished processing the shot. All-in-all, I still like the product and I hope you do as well.

The Opportunity

When I recently got the opportunity to go to Joshua Tree, or, as I like to call it, the land of the Lorax. I took advantage of my opportunity and now I get to climb for the weekend. I am really excited and wonder what awesome routes I will get to do for the rest of the weekend.

The Planning

Tomorrow I journey to the land of the Lorax, or, Joshua Tree. There is one thing about this trip, it is more of a prepatory trip in Joshua Tree. The real trip is next week when I know where to go in the park. I'm excited to explore the entire park, but I am scared that when I try a climb I will be juggling with my life. Hopefully, I will survive this trip.

The Bigger Practice

Yesterday I tried light painting indoors. I turned out alright, but I am more interested in making the images outside, which I did. I took a flash light and  used a tree as the subject. Simple enough, but I know that I can do better than this. I am still practicing, so these will be much better.

The Practice

I recently saw a video on painting a picture with light. The images I saw from that video were very interesting, so I tried it out on a small scale. Tomorrow I think that I will go on a larger scale.

The Fungus

For my sister's last day in California, we went hiking. There are many interesting things that I found along the hike (like this fungus.) Overall, the hike was fun. I will miss my sister dearly and I cannot wait until I will see her again.

The Laughter

I was laughing all day today with my family. It was just one of those days. In the evening, my family and I went to my grandmother's house for a Sunday dinner. We enjoyed each other's company and we looked at old family pictures too. It was a fun day, but I won't be in California too much longer, so I may as well enjoy it while I can.

The Wings

My little bird, Birdy, is having trouble flying and I am worried about him. Although Birdy may have trouble flying he still loves to hang with me as I go around the house. I love Birdy, but I really hope he is not sick.

The Ride

Spending the entire day with my sister can be very tiring. We went biking in the morning and kitesurfing in the afternoon. I did shoot some kiters before I went out myself. I got some good stuff too, but it would be helpful to have a telephoto lens that is much greater than my 300mm. Someday...

The Mess

My sister arrived home today to visit for the weekend. The first thing she said was: "You look like a hippie ... cut your hair." Thanks sis, I missed you too.

The Green

I saw "Wicked" today, and I would have to say: I was not very impressed. I just did not feel it. I have been moved by many casts from numerous musicals, but this was probably the most disappointing performance of "Wicked" I have ever seen. I think the lead knew how un-powerful the performance was that she almost literally broke her leg. Unfortunately, I got no shots of the performance or the stage, but that is unlawful anyway. Hopefully, I can shoot a theatre performance soon. That would be nice.

The Idea

I've had an idea for well over a year now. My idea is to reinvent the camera as we know it. It involves creating a camera that is exactly like the eye in every way. I'm not even too sure if something like that would work, but when the day arrives and my idea works, I will be a very happy person.

The Ups and Downs

I have felt really sick today. Normally I would just lay down, but after some pestering from my dog to go out to do his business; I was in and out of the bed. My dog always gets really excited when he gets what he wants. I'm just glad I got the shot.

The Observation

Hanging with my birds can be a lot of fun, but when you observe what they do and how they act, they can be especially entertaining. But, I have learned that birds do not like cameras, or my birds do not like my camera. All that really matters is that I got my shot.

The Jumps

Kitesurfing was a blast! I was doing tons of jumps and tricks and I had a lot of fun. Afterward, I was so sore I could barely move. I'm surprised that I got in some shots.

The Location

I have tried to make a great night shot of the stars at night. Unfortunately for me, here in southern California, you do not find many stars. I think the next time I try this will be out in the wilderness, away from civilization. I'm sure it will work there.

The Catholics

The El Toro track team was up against a nearby Catholic high school. El Toro did very well in this meet, but shooting for me was chaotic a complete mess. I went through all of the pictures, which was very speedy on my part, but many pictures were out of focus or blurry. However through the mess, I did find some good shots.
Every now and then I get very excited over an individual shot and I would have to say that I am pretty stoked about this shot. I will not go into full details, but I do hope you readers enjoy this shot as much as I do.

The Stars

For the first time I have discovered an effect on my camera that I have not seen from others and I cannot explain. Maybe you readers can help me out. For today's shot, I left the shutter open for a little over an hour to get a stars moving effect. But you may notice the random dots all over the image. I sure the cause is the long exposure, but what I want to know is: why?

The Wrong

I could not figure out how to get a customer's custom photo dimensions right for the longest time. It was nerve-racking and I wanted to break things. I didn't break anything, but I did make a solution that made the customer happy, and that is all that really matters. When I finally took the time to curl up in a ball it was all over. I don't think many things did go right today for me. I hope just it gets better.

The Sleep

I like to sleep, a lot. However recently I just feel as though everything I do, encounters I make and events that happen do not seem too real or something happening that makes me just want to wake up. Although life may feel like a dream, and I get a lot of deja-vu, I'm sure I'm not sleeping, otherwise I would be flying like superman. I think I'm just confused.

The Close Details

I have been going through all of the shots of yesterday's track event picking and choosing the best and in-focus shots. There are some amazing shots that I was bummed about because they were barely out of focus. However, it is the fine details that either make or break a photo. Some things are fix-able, but out of focus shots are not.

The Times

Biking, sprinting, burning, and processing. These are things that I have been going through today. It was the first of many El Toro track meets, and I was shooting most of the event. I biked to the meet which saved on gas, although carrying all my camera gear is a pain. Shooting each of the event was a great workout, I would have to go into a full-out sprint across the field so I would be sure to get a great shot of everybody. Then of course being out in the sun all-day, getting burned was inevitable. In the end, I took about a thousand shots, which adds to time post processing. I am hesitant to shoot these events only on the basis that I may not gain any income from it. It is a risk, and I sure hope it pays off (literally).

The Swing

Rock climbing today required a really big leap of faith. I cannot tell you how frightened I was for this newly discovered section of a climb we did. However, this climb required a big trust in myself and in my friends. In certain aspects, we all helped each other out. In the end, I was still the one most frightened of the climb.

The Post-Processing

I do not mind making edits to photos, but it tends to get monotonous after 500 or so shots to edit. Hopefully it will be worth it; I am investing my time into my editing in hopes people will pay for the images. We'll see how that pans out. With any luck, maybe I will upgrade to a better camera so I can take more awesome shots.

The Practice

It is always best to be prepared for any type of event. Today I prepared for future track meets by shooting a track workout. I put in a huge workout during the day and then had fun shooting the team's workout. I got a lot of shots, but a few were out of focus. So, I think that I may have to effectively focus on quickly moving objects. It is a good thing I have already had some practice, but it will be harder to also change zoom while focusing, but I can do it.

The Smile

On the way back from climbing, we were listening to the radio and I just could not help but do a little dance while in the car. I don't know why, but it was really funny and although the moment will probably never come back. The smile remained, and those are contagious.
